Giants-Steelers out-rates Rays-Phils in on television
I sure hope everyone out there took my advice Sunday and bet the college fund on Giants-Steelers beating Game 4 of the World Series in the TV ratings.
It wasn't close.
Among the 56 major markets measured in overnight ratings, the Giants averaged 15.6 percent of homes and the Series averaged 10.7.
The late afternoon Sunday slot is a ratings blockbuster for the NFL. There is far more competition in the evenings from entertainment programming.

(UPDATE: The national number for Game 4 turned out to be 9.3, improving the average rating through four games to 8.0, on pace for the lowest-rated Series ever. Fox could really use a Tampa Bay victory Monday night.)
