  • Here's the story of a man named Deacon

Thank you to readers who correctly – or incorrectly – took at stab at last week’s baby boomer trivia question: Who is the only athlete to be a guest on both “The Brady Bunch’’ and “The Odd Couple?’’

The answer was Deacon Jones, the Hall of Fame Rams defensive end, who it appears had a thing for acting – like his fellow Fearsome Foursome mates Merlin Olsen and Roosevelt Grier.

(Even Lamar Lundy, the fourth of the foursome, once appeared on “Lost in Space!’’)

According to his IMDB page, Jones also guested on “Bewitched,” “Banacek,” “The New Adventures of Wonder Woman’’ and other TV series, plus the 1972 blaxploitation flick “Black Gunn,’’ which starred Jim Brown and also featured Gene Washington and . . . Vida Blue?!
