The Jets will institute a ring of honor at New Meadowlands Stadium and honor the first six members at the inaugural preseason game at the new building next month.

The original six: Weeb Ewbank, Don Maynard, Joe Namath, Winston Hill, Joe Klecko, Curtis Martin.

Their names will be displayed in both end zones, with more to come each season as selected by a committee led by owner Woody Johnson. There will be no minimum or maximum number of selections each year.

“With this new stadium, we now have a proper way to salute those who have helped make this franchise what it is today,” Johnson said in a news release.

The Giants also plan to have a ring of honor in the stadium but have not yet announced their selections or when they will be honored.

Each team’s honorees will be displayed only during its games.
