John Madden gets lifetime Emmy, HBO gets nine awards

I'm back! Did I miss anything thing the past two days?

Yup. Let's start the catchup process.

First, the 31st annual Sports Emmys, which were awarded Monday and which featured a well-deserved Lifetime Achievement Award for John Madden. HBO led the way with nine trophies.

Here is a complete list of winners.

They include CBS' Jim Nantz for play-by-play, NBC's Cris Collinsworth for event analyst, NBC/MLB Network's Bob Costas for studio host and ESPN's Kirk Herbstreit for studio show analyst.

NBC won best live sports series for "Sunday Night Football," and ESPN won for best weekly and daily studio show with "College GameDay" and "Pardon the Interruption."

HBO's wins included best documentary ("Assault in the Ring"), best edited sports special ("24/7 Mayweather/Marquez") and best edited sports series ("Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Cincinnati Bengals").
