  • Len Berman to bid adieu to WNBC-TV after Wednesday

Wednesday is Len Berman's last day and night as Channel 4's lead sports anchor.

When I spoke to him at Citi Field last week, he was unaware of plans for a video tribute from his colleagues, but I think we can safely assume there will be one.

Well deserved. Len has had a heck of a run. I hope Channel 4 does the obvious - and right - thing and elevates Bruce Beck to the lead position.(Speaking of "Spanning the World," I was fortunate enough to attend a "Saturday Night Live" dress rehearsal recently, and there was announcer Don Pardo, going strong at age 91, warming up the crowd! The last time I had seen him in person at 30 Rock was on an East Northport Junior High field trip in the early 1970s, when he was the announcer for the game show "Jackpot!" Have I mentioned that before? Sorry. I can't remember anymore what I've shared on the blog, Facebook, Twitter, emails to friends or actual in-person conversations with fellow humans.)
