If I had not asked Lesley Visser, a pioneer among women in sports broadcasting (see post below) about last month's Erin Andrews "peephole" incident, I would have been kicked out of the sports blogging fraternity.

    So I did:

"You know what I felt?" Visser said. "I felt that what was lost in it was that she was a person. I know her. She's a colleague and a friend. I just felt everything was a debate. It was a topic.

"And what I told her I'd do, and I did this, I only spoke about this once or twice, because the more people spoke about it the more attention it got. I didn't want people to lose the fact this was a person in pain."

Ms. Andrews is scheduled to return to the college gridiron sidelines for ESPN Sept. 3. No word yet on whether she will discuss the notorious video publicly before then.

I'm here for her whenever she is ready.
