Lou Gehrig was a better actor than you would think

Considering all we've read and heard about Lou Gehrig's personality over the decades, his acting in this 1938 Western really isn't half-bad.

I'm wondering how Yankees executives felt about him engaging in a bar-room brawl, though.

A quirky piece of trivia: Two of the songs in the credits were written by Albert Von Tilzer. Thirty years earlier, he wrote the music for a baseball song you might be familiar with:

"Take Me Out to the Ball Game."

What is the relevance of this post? Nothing, other than it enabled me to procrastinate before writing the MMA post with which I plan to close out the week.
