  • Marcellus Wiley is a rising TV star . . . not that I'm biased

Sure, I'd write nice things about Marcellus Wiley even if he stunk, because I have a soft spot for former Ivy League jocks who become broadcasters.

But really, Wiley is an engaging, rising star in the ESPN galaxy. Now he has been tabbed to be one of the analysts for Arena Football League coverage, beginning March 1 with Dallas at Georgia on ABC.

Bob Wischusen will handle play-by-play for the opener. No more Mike and Mike!

I covered several Wiley games when he was at Columbia in the mid-1990s. I even saw him play running back there. When you're a good enough athlete, you can do pretty much whatever you want against merely average Ivy League players.

(I'll be at the Cornell-Princeton hockey game Saturday night, by the way. Autographs only between periods, please!)
