Mark Sanchez: blowin' in wind
Well, this is different:
What with much of the staff tied up covering the baseball playoffs and the Giants playing a big game in New Orleans, I was deployed to cover the Jets as a sportswriter . . . writing about sports!
Fortunately, the column topic ended up being something I actually know something about: Giants Stadium's winds making a quarterback look silly.
If Glauber were not busy traveling back from his wild weekend in the Big Easy, I'd suggest he research these questions today:
How many NFL teams lost the game in which their franchise record was set for individual rushing yards?
And how many NFL teams have lost a game in which they rushed for 318 yards overall?
(UPDATE: A reader emailed to report NBC answered the above question last night. The answer is two. The Jets on Oct. 18, 2009, and the Cleveland Rams, who lost to the Redskins despite 320 rushing yards on Nov. 5, 1944.)
Readers - preferably ones who work for the Elias Sports Bureau - are welcome to look into those matters and get back to me. I'll pass the answers along toBoone
