  • Michael Strahan is 'jealous' of Giants' new practice digs

I attended a promotional event Tuesday for the new Fox sitcom, "Brothers," starring Michael Strahan.

It was held on the indoor field of the Giants' new practice facility, which is a far cry from the team's old practice bubble and an even farther cry from what the team had for foul-weather practices when Strahan was a rookie in 1993: nothing.

It turned out it was Strahan's first visit to the Timex Performance Center.

"It's amazing," he said. "I've never been here. I had many opportunities to come because I didn't want to see it.

"I didn't want to see it because I spent 15 years in a basement with no windows, and a practice bubble where the thing would collapse half the time. And then in a weight room that was about the size of my bedroom closet.

"Then I come over here and this is like the creme de la creme. I'm jealous.

"When I first started we'd have to practice outside. We would actually have to bus to Rutgers [during particularly severe weather] and practice in their thing.

"So, I mean, I've been here a long time and I've never seen anything like this. This is beautiful."
