MLB Network announces Thursday night slate
The MLB Network announced its first eight Thursday night matchups, featuring 16 different teams, including the Yankees and Mets.
(The Yankees' and Mets' games will be blacked out on MLB Network in the New York area and instead be seen on YES and SNY.)
The network will show the Yankees home opener nationally April 16, with Bob Costas in the booth for a major league game for the first time since Oct. 17, 2000, when he called an ALCS game at old Yankee Stadium for NBC.
Jim Kaat and Harold Reynolds will serve as analysts alongside Costas for that game.
Costas also is scheduled for the May 7 game between the Phillies and Mets.
