  • More about MetLife sponsoring Giants/Jets building

I finally was able to (slightly) flesh out my earlier scooplet regarding MetLife being in line to be the first "corner" sponsor of the new Jets/Giants stadium.

The deal is not signed officially, but barring an unexpected glitch, MetLife will be the first major sponsor on board.

As for me attempting to put an exact figure of $6 million on the deal . . . It's impossible at this stage for me to stand by a number that precise. These sponsorships arrangements are very complex.

The big question is how the current economic climate will affect the process, and that, too, largely is an unknown and continues to evolve.

One thing that now seems almost beyond question: It would be a shock if the teams did not sell personal seat licenses.

The Giants and Jets have two more years to slap a name on the place, and someone eventually will come forward with the dough.

    How about the WatchDog House?
