'My Boys' writer goes from beat grunt to lordly columnist
Excellent news for readers sick of me complaining about how the lead character - a fictional sportswriter - never seems to work on the otherwise enjoyable TBS series, "My Boys."
On this past week's episode, P.J. Franklin is promoted from a baseball beat writer (the toughest job in sports journalism) to a general columnist (not the toughest job in sports journalism).
Problem solved! From now on, it will be entirely realistic that she spends all her time drinking beer, playing poker and sharing witty repartee with her guy friends.
