Neil Best leaves no stone unturned in the world of sports media.

Newsday.com, lookin' good

Here are a couple contributions I made to the Tuesday newspaper, one an appreciation of (Dandy) Don Meredith here and the other a look back at ESPN's "30 for 30" series here.

Just got back from a screening of HBO's latest docu, "Lombardi," which premieres Saturday. Dick Vermeil was there and cried afterward. OK, bad example. Other people cried, too.

Wednesday I will try to do some old-school blogging in an attempt to properly celebrate the new-look Newsday.com and the fact the website has been opened up for all through Jan. 7.

But I gotta be honest: A lot has changed over the past 13 months and my schedule no longer is geared toward blog carpet-bombing the way it used to be. Among other things, I've gone back to being a football writer (part-time).

Meanwhile, check out the website. Our re-redesign is a huge upgrade, and we're proud of it.
