Neil Best leaves no stone unturned in the world of sports media.
NFL Network has Colts, Saints
If you have the NFL Network, enjoy the unbeaten Colts against the Jags.
(The network also has the unbeaten Saints against the Cowboys Saturday, a double whammy it has been heavily promoting, including tweaks of cable company holdouts Time Warner and Cablevision, the latter of which owns Newsday.)
If not, enjoy Knicks-Bulls on MSG or Rangers-Isles on MSG Plus or the 1984 Miami-Nebraska game on ESPN Classic or "Karate Kid III" on Versus.
Me? I'll be reading SI's "Year in Sports Media" issue.
(UPDATE: I'm watching the football game online via a special access code the NFL gave me, presumably because of its desire for sports media critics in Time Warner and Cablevision areas to sample their product. I like Papa and Millen, and the video quality is very good. Most importantly, MJD has two touchdowns so far, giving me a crucial head start in my fantasy playoff showdown against Mrs. WatchDog's brother. OMG, now Sims-Walker has scored. I picked him up this week but kept him on the bench. Sorry. THIS is why no civilized person should ever share fantasy football concerns with anyone he or she is not directly competing against. Because NO ONE CARES! But still . . . Sims-Walker! And now Dallas Clark has two TDs. My brother-in-law has him! Oy. That's it. I'm done. No fantasy football next season. Will watch my recording of last night's "Daily Show" now.)
