NFL sends Broncos, Chargers to prime time, not Jets

(Credit: Watchdog)

Al Michaels just announced that the Week 17 flex game on NBC will be Broncos at Chargers, as I speculated in the post below.

This is a mixed blessing for Jets ticket holders, who on one hand won't be forced to sit in a cold, dark stadium 'til near midnight, but who on the other hand avoided that fate only because their team lost to the lowly Seahawks and is on its playoff deathbed.

(Brett Favre is from Mississippi. How can he reasonably be expected to know how to play in cold, snowy conditions? Duh!)

It's also a mixed blessing for me.

I don't have to stay up late watching the Jets next Sunday. But now I have to figure out what to do with all of the excellent quotes I had stockpiled for my Tuesday newspaper column about the outrage of flexing the Jets into prime time in late December.

Sigh. Good night.
