Peyton gives Eli noogie
Sorry for my absence from the blog the past few days. I was in Indianapolis watching the Colts drop the Giants into a tie for first place in the NFC East.
It was an honor in my first visit to Lucas Oil Stadium to be seated between Vinny (The Sage) DiTrani of the Bergen Record, who is in his 86th and final season on the Giants beat, and Tom (Solid as a) Rock, a fantastic addition to the pantheon of former and current Newsday Giants beat reporters.
Here is a story I wrote for the Sunday paper about the Manning brothers.

The strangest media moment of Sunday night came when I sat down for Eli's postgame news conference and initially was joined by a total of one other reporter - my old Giants beat pal Mike Eisen, who now works for the Giants.
Where was everyone else? Wasn't Eli the story of the game going into the evening? They all were in the locker room, where Brandon Jacobs was apologizing for throwing his helmet into the stands - and cursing out Rock.
