Philadelphians notice that it is baseball season

I have driven to Philadelphia for work and/or "pleasure" dozens of times, and I believe this morning was the first occasion on which I heard sustained baseball talk on the sports station WIP.
Usually, it's Eagles in March, Eagles in June and Eagles in October, at a level of discourse that makes WFAN and 1050 ESPN seem like the Harvard Debate Council.
Welcome aboard, our friends to the south, and good luck against the mighty Rays. Remember: Why can't us?
(If you're looking for jokes here about how stupid and mean Philadelphia sports fans are, you have come to the wrong place. I live with one of them and thus, well, you understand.)
I wrote a long feature for Newsday back in '93 on the wacky Phillies of Len Dykstra, John Kruk, Curt Schilling, Mitch Williams and manager Jim Fregosi.
That was a weird experience.
