Rain delay hurts Game 3 ratings, which set record low
Oh, one more thing:
The combination of the after-10-p.m.-Eastern starting time and the fact it was a Saturday night and the fact the Red Sox, Yankees, Cubs and Dodgers have gone home helped make Game 3 of the World Series the lowest-rated in the history of television, by a comfy margin.
The game averaged 6.1 percent of U.S. households, beating the previous low of 8.0 for Game 1 in 2006.
It would have been even worse if it had not been a close, interesting game.
Unless the Series goes to six or seven games, it is almost certain to be the first ever to finish with an average rating in single digits.
