Reggie Miller on Knicks fans booing him: 'Truly, I loved it'
Here is a story I wrote for the Tuesday newspaper in which Reggie Miller recalls his rivalry with the Knicks in the mid-1990s, as chronicled in the entertaining documentary, "Winning Time," debuting on ESPN Sunday.
Representative quote from my sitdown with him last week, for those of you who can't access links from the blog:
"Running out of the tunnel in Madison Square Garden, it's the ultimate,'' he said.
"Those fans, all the booing and yelling and chanting, I loved it. People ask: Did that make you upset, hurt your feelings? Truly, I loved it. I loved that.
"For grown men and women, from 8 in the morning 'til game time, to think about going to the Garden, just to scream at No. 31? All day, focused on ruining your night? I loved that.''
That's it for today. Hey, "Gossip Girl" is back tonight! Enjoy.
