Farewell, Rocky Mountain News. RIP.
Speaking of which, here is an encore presentation of the post from Thursday regarding Cablevision's plans to limit access to Newsday.com (in ways that have not yet been announced).
The discussion on this topic is one of the best things WatchDog readers ever have done - an entertaining, wide-ranging, bluntly frank exchange of ideas.
Some have accused me of blindly following the company line. Believe what you want, but I guarantee you this: Most newspaper executives, editors and reporters in America will be rooting hard for us to succeed, and if we do, will not hesitate to join us.
Citizens who care about being well informed about the world around them should feel similarly.
