  • Serena Williams used to be 'very unprofessional after a loss'

I'll leave Serena Williams alone after this, because in spite of Saturday night's events she has a long track record as a great player and a compelling, mostly positive personality.

But check out this quote from the cover story on her in the October issue of Success magazine:

“I used to be really, really bad and very unprofessional after a loss because I hate losing so much.

"But I’ve come to realize that a loss is not the end of the world. I don’t cry as much. I realize I can’t win everything."

(Video of her appearance on GMA Tuesday morning here. Serena admits she "lost control" Saturday, becomes emotional talking about her late sister, declines to fire back at Mary Carillo and sports a cool new hairdo.)

Little or no blogging rest of day. Enjoy The Scott Van Pelt Show simulcast at 3 p.m. on ESPN2.
