Shane Victorino rips Larry Bowa, who wonders why

It's been a long season, and everyone is a tad cranky. And sometimes confused.

During his pre-Game 5 news conference, someone asked the Phillies' Shane Victorino to respond to comments from Larry Bowa, who allegedly had said something on the radio about the Phillies having a reputation for stealing signs, which Victorino took as an implication that that had aided their success.

Victorino responded angrily.

So, naturally, Newsday's own Arthur Staple tracked down Bowa, who said that he never said anything of the sort.

Here is Staple's blog post about all of this.

Football season lasts only six months, from the start of camp to the grand finale. Baseball now is practiced or played in every month but December and January.

Everyone could use a break at this point. Hear that, A.J.?
