Neil Best leaves no stone unturned in the world of sports media.
'The Yankee Years' is a must read with an odd format
Here is my review of the Joe Torre/Tom Verducci book in the Wednesday paper.
Probably the best tribute to the book is the fact every time I read another publication's take, I remember more newsworthy stuff I didn't around to sharing before I had to stop.
The Daily News, for example, finally got around to reading the book Tuesday, and offers more details on the Yankees in the steroids era and blunt observations about Mariano Rivera from Mike Mussina.
I'm out of the excerpting business myself for now. I believe I've done enough, no?
Next up in this saga: What will the Yankees say, and when will they say it?
Plus, Friday night Joe Torre subjects himself to his first extensive interview on the book, in the intimidating crosshairs of . . . Larry King?
