Tiger Woods should speak up
I wrote a column for the Tuesday newspaper suggesting Tiger Woods offer a more thorough public explanation for the events of early Friday morning.
So did Herrmann.
But we came to the same conclusion for different reasons, me because it's the practical thing to do and Mark because it's the right thing to do.
Wally Matthews weighs in here, completing a rare Newsday sports columnizing tripleheader.
I also wrote a story about the potential impact on Woods' vast endorsement portfolio that you can read here.
(Short answer for the short term: not much.)
Speaking of Tiger, Newsday jumped into the Rachel Uchitel end of the tabloid saga in a big way in Monday's paper. Check it out here.
(UPDATE: Ms. Uchitel spoke at length to the New York Post about all this, and begs to differ with reports she and Mr. Woods have had an intimate relationship.)
