  • Tom Brady must go down, and must go down hard

This is my last post of the day. (If the NFL can take a week off, I can take a week off from the Friday comment contest.)

Here are some interesting stats from the "State Farm NFL Matchup"' crew to warm you up for my Sunday article about watching tape with Ron Jaworski.

Tom Brady is 9-for-9 for 91 yards, two TDs and no interceptions in the playoffs when the opponent rushes three and drops eight.

Against the Patriots Dec. 29, Eli Manning was 11-for-16 for 133 yards and a TD against the blitz.

But against the Packers last weekend, Eli was 5-for-14 for 49 yards against the blitz after having gone 14-for-15 for 171 yards in the first two playoff games.

The Giants blitzed Brett Favre on 13 of 35 dropbacks and Favre was 6-for-13 on those plays for 43 yards and two interceptions, for a passer rating of 14.7.

OK. That's it. I have a newspaper column and a family to tend to.

Enjoy "Hook-N-Look" on Versus at 3 p.m. I have no idea what that is. I assume it's about fishing. I once caught a salmon in Alaska. But that's another story.
