Tom Coughlin leaves bunk beds to Gruden, Cowher

Jon Gruden, who analyzed Monday night’s Giants preseason game for ESPN and will work the Jets game this coming Monday night, now has a special bond with Tom Coughlin after the two joined an NFL-USO tour of Iraq last month with other current and former NFL coaches.
“It was a great experience,’’ Gruden said Friday, “not only to be with Tom and the other coaches but to be able to see and do. It gave us all a new perspective on what’s going on in Iraq.
“We had a great time and all stayed in the same room. Same room, same toilet. I was on the top bunk. [Bill] Cowher was on the bottom bunk. Coach Coughlin had the best selection of beds. He was our leader.
"We had great fellowship and camaraderie and hopefully we made the soldiers laugh. It was awesome.’’
