Vin Scully to appear on 1050 soon, Sotheby's Tuesday
Michael Kay just said Vin Scully will be his guest on 1050 ESPN at 4 p.m.
That in itself is worth nothing here in case you want to listen. But it also reminded me I keep forgetting to give you the ticket info for the event Tuesday at which Fordham will honor Scully for his lifetime achievements.
Click below for the news release and ticket particulars.WFUV Radio's (90.7 FM, wfuv.org) two most cherished alumni -- legendary Dodgers voice Vin Scully and CBS News icon and Sunday Morning host Charles Osgood -- will be presented with Lifetime Achievement Awards that will forever bear their names at the station's inaugural spring gala at Sotheby's auction house on Tuesday night, April 29, in New York City.
And their presenters at the benefit for Fordham University's National Public Radio station, are illustrious in their own right. Scully will be presented by his good friend and former Brooklyn Dodgers' right hander Ralph Branca, while Osgood will be handed his hardware by CBS Early Show host Harry Smith. Grammy Award-winning artist Emmylou Harris will perform at the gala, and will also be cited with the WFUV Sound & Vision Award for her accomplishments and contributions to the music, which will be presented by Oscar Award-winning producer/director/writer Jonathan Demme.
