Voice of Yanks reportedly won't move to new stadium
NYT reports Bob Sheppard has retired.
When I spoke to his wife, Mary, recently she indicated he was not going to make it to the opener but hoped to return sometime this season when he had more "stamina."
Reading between the lines, it sounded like a longshot hope.
Apparently I read correctly.
(Or . . . not. The Times has updated its original story to reflect Sheppard saying that he has not said he is retired. Sorry for the confusion. Return to your regular activities.)
