Wash. Times to drop sports
An excellent ode to the soon-to-be-discontinued Washington Times sports section from our friends at the D.C. Sports Bog.
Those affected evidently will include my old NFC East beat confrere Dave Elfin, a past president of the Pro Football Writers of America.
When I was younger I used to lament working in the most ultra-competitive newspaper market in the United States, wondering about life in the easy chair of a one-paper town.
I no longer feel that way, for various reasons. The more New York-area reporters trying to bash each other's brains in, the better.
As long as as many of us as possible continue to have jobs, I'm happy.
