WatchDog contest! Win big prize!
Here is another item from my Friday newspaper column, in which I offer interesting information and opinions regarding the New York sports gridlock - Giants, Jets, Yankees, Mets, Rangers - fans will encounter early Sunday afternoon.
This situation has inspired me to set up a contest that will result in an actual prize being awarded - old hat for Davidoff but a first for WatchDog.
Here's how it works: In the comments section below or via an email to firstname.lastname@example.org, predict the order of the TV ratings in the New York market for the five events that will be shown simultaneously Sunday.
Then predict the actual rating number - percentage of households watching - for whichever event you guessed will finish first.
That will serve as the tiebreaker among contestants who get the order right.
Clear? The winner gets three interesting new books: Mike Vaccaro's "The First Fall Classic," about the 1912 World Series; Brian Billick's "More Than a Game" and "Sixty Feet, Six Inches" by Reggie Jackson and Bob Gibson.
(Update: The comments don't seem to be showing up on the Web site at this time. Just email me, please. Sigh.)
