  • WFAN hosts are playing nicely for now

Speaking of giving subjects short shrift because of newspaper space restrictions (see post below), I struggled to explain to non-blog readers the background of the amusing Ca-Boom vs. Francesa/Russo mini-feud at WFAN, and didn't have room to share more of operations manager Mark Chernoff's thoughts on the subject.

Russo did appear on the air with Ca-Boom Thursday morning, and Craig Carton and Mike Francesa spoke, so perhaps all is well for now.

Chernoff said there were misunderstandings on both sides during the original incident. He said Craig Carton and Boomer Esiason were not aware that Mike Francesa and Chris Russo had acknowledged on the air their strong early ratings. (True.)

He also said Francesa misunderstood the caller who initially explained the Clark Kellogg Affair to him.

"Mike heard the audio [of Boomer and Carton] and said it’s not a big deal what they said," said Chernoff, who said he was reluctant to "make a mountain out of a molehill'' on the subject.

"I’d certainly rather than nobody criticize anybody on the air but we’ve had this before. When there’s a little it’s fine . . . I've lived through them at many radio stations."
