Yankee Stadium bleacher fans will see less, pay less

Yankees COO Lonn Trost just said on WFAN that the 600 obstructed view seats in the bleachers of the new Yankee Stadium will be sold for $5 apiece, not $12!

Hmm. This is new, no? Monday Trost said they cost $12 apiece, which also was the price indicated on the team's Web site.

The audio of this interview - which included Trost taking calls from concerned fans - has not yet been posted on WFAN's Web site, but it contained many interesting tidbits.

Trost said the Yankees likely would make their most expensive tickets available for limited packages, and hinted that the prices for some of those seats might have been lower had they been set after the worst of the current recession took hold.

Trost also said that in some cases companies or individuals with the money to buy ultra-expensive tickets are reluctant to do so not because they can't afford it but because they are concerned simply with being seen in public sitting in such expensive seats in this economic environment.
