Yankees' Game 5 was TV hit

Game 5 of the Tigers-Yankees Division Series Thursday night on TBS averaged 6.2 percent of homes nationally and 9.72 million viewers, making it the most-watched LDS game in cable TV history and the most on any channel since Game 5 of the 2005 series between the Yankees and Angels.
In the New York area an average of 18.3 percent of homes were tuned in; in Detroit the figure was 27.6 percent.
