  • Yankees prep for most irrelevant game in YES history

Tonight's tilt will be the most meaningless regular-season game in YES' seven-year history.

But some fans presumably will be curious to watch Phil Hughes try to win a game.

So you certainly could make the case Thursday's game will even more irrelevant.

Meanwhile, SNY is cleaning up in the ratings race with the Mets again teetering on the brink.

My best educated guess is YES again will beat out SNY for the season based on household ratings, but SNY could score victories in some important demographic categories.

I will update all this next week, because even though you don't care about ratings arcana, a lot of the sports media geeks who read this blog do.
