How did CBS decide Final Four order?
CBS is blessed with a pair of juicy Final Four matchups, but many fans were surprised by its decision to go with the Ohio State-Kansas game in the traditionally more high profile late slot rather then the Kentucky-Louisville showdown.
I asked CBS Sports chairman Sean McManus what went into that decision. Here is what he said:
"It was a really, really close call, and we talked about... » more

Clark Kellogg can't see son's game
Clark Kellogg knows he is not the first father to miss a child's activity because of a work conflict.
So the CBS analyst refuses to lament the fact his son Nick will be playing in the Sweet 16 Friday in St. Louis at the same time he is working at another Sweet 16 site in Atlanta.
Still, he admitted he will be keeping an eye on the action in the Ohio-North Carolina game even as he watches... » more

Rangers set ratings mark
Monday's Rangers-Devils tilt on NBC Sports Network (formerly Versus) averaged 1.94 percent of homes in the New York area.
That is the best ever figure in the New York market for a regular-season game on NBCN.
On another hockey ratings note, Sunday's Penguins-Flyers game on NBC averaged 15.1 percent of homes in Pittsburgh. That's just ridonkulous for a regular-season game.... » more

John Skipper, who had been ESPN's top executive in charge of content, since Jan. 1 has been ESPN's top executive in charge of, well, everything. He succeeded George Bodenheimer in what widely was expected to be an orderly transition.

It’s time again to locate truTV on your channel lineup, what with 13 NCAA games set for the network.
First up for the Channel Formerly Known as Court TV, though, is Hardcore Brackets at 7 p.m. Sunday, a show featuring Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith, who last year appeared on a too-crowded CBS set to talk brackets.
Barkley said he is looking forward to it, and said for the most part... » more

Big Blue DVD is vanilla
Far be it from me to deny Giants fans an opportunity to relive the glories of the 2011 season by enjoying the new DVD, “Super Bowl XLVI Champions: New York Giants.’’
But be advised: The approach is as vanilla as the title. This is a strictly highlights-driven offering, full of cool NFL Films angles and slo-mo shots of balls spiraling through the air – including Tom Brady’s season-ending Hail... » more
