ESPN pulls LeBron James story

The Internet was in a tizzy this afternoon over word that a story ESPN.com posted earlier in the day about a fellow who hung out with LeBron James and his friends in Las Vegas suddenly had disappeared.

Here are the basics, and the original story.

What happened? Did LeBron's people somehow have it removed? From the information I have been able to gather the answer, boring as it is, is this: no.

This was ESPN.com's call. But why? The story was kind of interesting and offered insights into "Entourage" in real life, which sounds like the TV show, only much more so.

Here is the network's statment on this matter:

“The story should have never been published. The draft was inadvertently put on the server before going through the usual editorial process. We are in the midst of looking into the matter.”
