Neil Best leaves no stone unturned in the world of sports media.

It's Top 10 list time!

Sorry about the lack of blogging lately. Actually, not really. I spent today writing six pages worth of material for the newspaper, the first three of which are to appear Thursday.

They feature our list of the Top 10 NY Sports Stories of the Year (here) and the Top 10 NY Sports Personalities of the Year (here).

Catching up on other stuff . . .

I was honored to be included with Serena Williams, Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers, Stephen Colbert, Lance Armstrong, Bill Simmons and others on SBD's list of 20 memorable tweets from 2010 here.

Remember that column I wrote for Tuesday's paper complaining about the Knicks playing at noon on Christmas? Phil Jackson has qualms about playing on Christmas at any time of day. Here.

Here is an item via Deadspin about an extremely amusing, long-ago letter from the Browns in response to a fan. Made me laugh out loud. (Parental advisory: Naughty language included.)

Sure, I cringed during the early badgering of Rex Ryan during his news conference Wednesday. But keep in mind, please, that sportswriters and tabloid news warriors have very different agendas, and when they are thrown together in the same room with the same interview subject before them, extreme awkwardness can ensue.

Speaking of awkward media moments, people who make fun of working journalists, as in the video below, really ought to have a clue what they are talking about regarding postgame logistics on the front lines before sitting in a studio giggling in embarrassing fashion.
