Joe Torre book is worth price for serious Yankees fans

On Monday I joined the still-small-but-about-to-skyrocket fraternity of people who actually have read Joe Torre's controversial new book, "The Yankee Years."

Then I wrote a story about it in the Tuesday newspaper.

The frustration was only being able to scratch the surface of a 500-page book in an 800-word story, so I will do my best to tell you more about what is in it in the blog without violating any copyright laws.

I plan to review the book formally in the Wednesday paper, but I can answer now the question of whether it is worth buying should you decide to pre-order it in advance of its Feb. 3 release date:

Assuming you have a strong, serious interest in the Yankees of 1996-2007, yes, absolutely.
