Jose Feliciano turned anthem gig upside down in '68

Months ago a loyal reader suggested I urge MLB to invite Jose Feliciano to sing "The Star Spangled Banner" before a World Series game to celebrate the 40th anniversary of his historic, controversial version at Game 5 in Detroit in 1968.

I never got around to it. Thus, we had Backstreet Boys for Game 1.

I'm not aware of Mr. Feliciano being scheduled to get a turn in this Series.

If not, my bad. It was a fine idea.
