Knicks melt in Wade's heat

And now for something completely different . . .

Me covering a Knicks game!

No, really. Here is my game story (starring Dwyane Wade) and here is my sidebar (starring Eddy Curry).

I didn't completely ignore my sports media beat duties during my Christmas Day visit to MSG, though.

Before the game I introduced myself to ESPN's Dan Shulman and Doris Burke, who recently were named play-by-play man and sideline reporter of the decade, respectively, by SI.com's Richard Deitsch here.

Meanwhile, our look back at the 2000s continues with an entry not written by me. It's Gregg Sarra on the top 10 high school athletes on Long Island, including Northport lacrosse star Jillian Byers at No. 4.

No. 1? I won't ruin the surprise. Check it out yourself. Not that the choice is much of a surprise, actually.
