Neil Best leaves no stone unturned in the world of sports media.

Nearly one-fifth of NY area households watch Giants

The Panthers-Giants tilt Sunday night attracted 12.9 percent of homes in major U.S. markets, not as many as the previous week's Giants-Cowboys game (15.4), but still pretty good.

The game did a 19.6 rating in the New York market, better than the 18.9 for the Cowboys game. New York joined four Carolinas markets in the top five:

1. Charlotte, 38.9

2. Greensboro, 27.0

3. New York, 19.6

4. Raleigh-Durham, 17.4

5. Greenville-Spartanburg, 17.3

6. Indianapolis, 17.1

7. Richmond, 17.0

8. Nashville, 15.9

9. Washington, D.C., 15.6

10. Las Vegas, 14.7

(UPDATE: CBS' "singleheader" day, highlighted by Titans-Steelers, averaged a 14.3 rating in major markets, which the network said ranked as its highest non-doubleheader rating since it re-acquired NFL rights in 1998.)
