Neil Everett, Stan Verrett to host new SportsCenter

ESPN announced its new, L.A.-based late-night SportsCenter would be anchored primarily by Stan Verrett and Neil Everett, who despite their similar names are not related.

The 1 a.m. ET SportsCenter will debut from ESPN's fancy new studios April 6, when Stuart Scott will participate. He will host a select number of L.A. shows during the year.

The California SportsCenter will be the version shown in replays through early the next morning, leading up to the 9 a.m. ET SportsCenter that originates from Bristol, Conn.

All of this means an end to the 30-year tradition of full SportsCenter crews hitting the quiet streets of Bristol in the weird, wee hours.

Steve Levy isn't going to know what to do with himself when he punches his time clock as early as midnight.
