During his speech upon accepting the J.G. Taylor Spink Award Sunday, long-time baseball scribe Nick Peters proudly announced he never has blogged or Twittered.

When Jim Baumbach makes his acceptance speech in 40 years, he will be unable to make that claim, after his impressive blogging performance over the weekend in Cooperstown.

Nice job by Rickey Henderson on his induction speech, by the way. Best one I've heard since Michael Irvin's all-time classic in Canton.

And congratulations to Tony Kubek on his well-deserved Ford C. Frick Award for his memorable, ended-too-soon career as a TV analyst.
