One other thing about Omar Minaya's latest news conference train wreck:

On one hand, it is extremely uncomfortable hearing people on the radio (and elsewhere) make fun of the Mets' general manager for his lack of command of English under the pressure and scrutiny of a live media event.

On the other hand, if the Mets continue to trot him out as the face of the franchise in these types of settings, it is reasonable for fans and the media to expect him to be able to express himself clearly - and to know enough not to throw gasoline on the fire the way he did Monday.
