Rex Ryan seeks romantic scene with Heather Locklear
Here is a story I wrote based on my visit to Jets camp Thursday, where the team and HBO announced Gang Green would be featured on "Hard Knocks" this summer.
(Here is Glauber's analysis on that topic, in which he quotes the first "Hard Knocks" coach, Brian Billick.)
Here is a Rex Ryan quip I didn't have room for in the story:
"You know, this might have motivated me earlier. I probably should have had that lap band surgery about a year earlier and been down to about 220. Maybe I would get that opportunity to have that romantic scene with Heather Locklear one day."
Here is a story NFL Films president Steve Sabol told in response to concerns the cameras might distract players as they prepare for the season:
"I was a camerman in the 1960s and I went up to Wisconsin with the Packers and covered the Packers' camp with Coach Lombardi, and when they were doing grass drills he would always ask me to come out and set up the tripod just to shoot it.
"I said, 'Coach, I don't know if you have any film in this thing.'
"He said, 'I don't care.' His phrase was: 'There are no slackers when the eyes of the world are watching.'"
"And I said, 'Coach Lombardi, it's just NFL Films.'
"He said, 'Get out there, set the camera up, pretend you're shooting.'"
