SNY helps Sandy-battered leagues on LI

Well, hello there! I have returned to the media and business beat after a month following the Knicks around and . . . well, I'm glad to be back.

Kudos to the hoops beat writers for doing a job that is more difficult than it appears and for keeping the rest of us informed of Knicks and Nets doings.

Let's get back in the swing with a positive story:

SNY recently made $5,000 grants as part of its Play Ball initiative to two Long Island leagues - the West Islip Little League and Copiague Youth League - that suffered severe damage during Superstorm Sandy.

Both leagues lost many dollars worth of equipment in the storm. Embedded is a video that chronicles the West Islip part of the story.
