Stony Brook’s men’s basketball team lost in the semifinals of the America East tournament last Sunday, but its radio announcer plays on.

Well, actually, Mike Solano recorded his appearance on “Who Wants To Be a Millionaire” in October, but now the rest of us can see how he does.

Solano’s first day on the show concluded Thursday after his ninth question, with an accumulated total of $58,600. At 12:30 p.m. Friday on Channel 7, he will begin with his 10th question — which is about the architectural style of the Playboy Mansion — and a chance to move to round two at the risk of what he has earned so far.
