Neil Best leaves no stone unturned in the world of sports media.
TBS has yet to replace Caray
Here is the weekly roundup of blog highlights we print in the Sunday paper.
I don't usually link to it on the blog, since you've read it all before, but I did add one additional tidbit to my item explaining Tiki Barber's absence from NBC during the Olympics:
Even though Barber recently signed a new contract with NBC News, his relationship with NBC Sports pretty much is over after three mostly uneventful years as a studio analyst for "Football Night in America" and later a field reporter for the show.
Elsewhere in sports announcing news . . .
TBS' lead baseball analyst, Ron Darling, told me Friday that he has been given his early season Sunday afternoon schedule but still has not been told who his partner will be, post-Chip Caray.
Meanwhile, on Sunday nights, ESPN still has not said whether - or with whom - it will replace Steve Phillips alongside Jon Miller and Joe Morgan.
Bobby Valentine seemed like a logical choice, but from what I hear, it won't be him.
