A few weeks after the Giants won Super Bowl XLII, Eli Manning, Michael Strahan, David Tyree, Antonio Pierce, Amani Toomer, Osi Umenyiora and Brandon Jacobs showed up for the premiere of their official championship DVD.

A few weeks after the Yankees won the 2009 World Series, total player attendance at Monday night's highlight DVD premiere was zero.

Oh, well. It is a holiday week, and some of the guys no doubt were busy on beaches with starlets.

Brian Cashman and Joe Girardi were there. Davidoff talked to them. Suzyn Waldman, John Sterling and Michael Kay walked the red carpet, too. (Kay told me it was his first red carpet. And that he was wearing Ralph Lauren.)

The sixth and final red carpet celebrity was . . . actor Timothy Busfield. Why? That was the first thing I asked him! His answer - and a mini-review of the DVD - when I get around to it.
